MANILA, Philippines – A kind and generous teacher decided to hand out relief goods to her neighbors amid the threat of coronavirus disease in the country.
Teacher Jennifer Salcedo from Maligaya Elementary School in Quezon City has earned the praise of many for her generosity. She was seen giving out packs of rice and canned goods.
Living by the principle that "the secret of living is giving," Teacher Jennifer didn't hesitate to extend her assistance to those in need.
She said, "Ang kahulugan po nito para sa akin ay ang pagmamahal sa kapwa, pagpapakita ng malasakit, at pagiging matulungin at mapagbigay nang hindi naghihintay ng anumang kapalit."
Even her husband, who works as an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) supports her charity works. Teacher Jennifer was also fortunate that her children, sister-in-law and the rest of her family also participated in her good deeds.
"We share the blessings kasi alam po namin ng mister ko ang pakiramdam nang walang-wala, kaya rin siya nagpupursige sa abroad," she added.
The Department of Education (DepEd) also appreciated Teacher Jennifer's good deeds. On DepEd's official Facebook page, they shared photos of Teacher Jennifer where she received many praises from her fellow teachers.
A netizen said, "Mabuhay ka titser, God bless you more!" Another said, "Nakakabilib na teacher ka, ma'am!"
