MANILA, Philippines – The Supreme Court (SC) announced the postponement of the 2020 bar exam due to COVID-19 crisis, recently released bar bulletin said.

Associate Justice Marvic Leonen, Chairman of the 2020 bar examinations previously announced that tests will be held on November 8, 15, 22 and 29. Venue will be announced in the next bulletin (usually held at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila).
Day 1 (November 8): Political and International Law and Labor Law and Social Legislation
Day 2 (November 15): Civil Law and Taxation Law
Day 3 (November 22): Commercial Law and Criminal Law
Day 4 (November 29): Remedial Law and Legal and Judicial Ethics & Practical Excercises
The exam periods will be from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon for the first subject and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for the second exam.
Same with the 2019 bar exam, the two-examiner policy per subject will be adopted "in order to promote operational efficiency in light of the notable increase in number of admitted candidates in recent years."
In its implementation, every bar subject shall be divided into two (2) parts Part 1 and Part II. Examiners shall be assigned a specific scope from which to formulate their questions. After the examinations, booklets for Part I and Part II shall be released simultaneously to the respective bar examiners in order to expedite checking.
Questions were carefully selected by the committee, are formulated to test analytical ability, facility in expression in terms of written argument, comprehension of basic principles of law, and grasp of jurisprudence.
