MANILA, Philippines – More than 20 Filipino artists have joined forces for heartwarming “We Heal As One” music video to promote hope and healing amid the large-scale threat of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The song, dedicated to frontliners in this battle against coronavirus and to uplift Filipino's spirits, was uploaded online Tuesday by Universal Records. It is a remake of 2019 Southeast Asian Games theme song “We Win As One.”
National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab led the new version. "Handog namin itong kantang ‘to para sa lahat ng Pilipino," he said.
Among the local artists who lent their voices in "We Heal As One" are Lea Salonga, Martin Nievera, Ogie Alcasid, Pops Fernandez, Bamboo, Sarah Geronimo, Lani Misalucha, Gary Valenciano, Apl de Ap of the Black Eyed Peas, Robert Sena, Isay Alvarez, Christian Bautista, and Menchu Lauchengco.
The others are: Julie Anne San Jose, KZ Tandingan, Jamie Rivera, Inigo Pascual, Alden Richards, Rita Daniela, Ken Chan, Paolo Valenciano, Aicelle Santos, Michael Williams, and Jed Madela.
As of Thursday, the total confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines has reached 707 cases, along with 45 deaths and 28 recoveries.
