MANILA, Philippines – A company recently went viral, earning praise from the online community for its impressive employee benefits during the COVID-19 lockdown.
With Metro Manila and the entire Luzon placed under community quarantine, a lot of workers are faced with a month of no work. With many under the “no work, no pay” scheme, many are worried about how they could feed their families in the 1 month they can’t report to work. But even regular employees are worried as companies still require them to work despite difficulties that they face in traveling from home to their workplace.

Ezential Corporation, the company that makes and sells Redjuice, went viral after a leaked memo from March 16 that detailed the benefits its employees are set to receive during the lockdown period.
Complying with the lockdown announcement by the government, the company suspends all office activities until the last day of the lockdown on April 14, 2020. But despite not reporting for duty or being asked to do their work from home, the employees will receive these benefits:
The package will be provided for all employees, but they are all required to stay at home. After all, the company is giving them all these benefits; they have nothing else to worry about.
The company warned that surprise home visits will be conducted by the management anytime from March 17 to April 15, at random. Any employee who is not at home during the visit may be terminated for cause, unless he/she has a compelling reason for being out.
Understanding that the workers might need to go out to buy food or go for medical check-up, the company allows this as long as the worker informs his/her immediate superior.
