Teacher Rinzie Vargas posted a photo on Facebook showing the test paper of one of his students. The paper has no answers at all and only had a short message addressed to the teacher. The student wrote, "Sorry po sir. Hindi po ako nakapag-review. Ayaw ko rin po mag-cheat kaya wala po akong sagot. Please appreciate."

According to Teacher Rinzie, he was moved with the letter because he understands that the student would rather be honest than get a good score but cheat.

He said, "First thing po pinost po ko tong papel ng bata kasi nabigla po ako at naantig sa ginawa nyang sulat imbes na sagutan ang mga katanungan ko. VALUES is more important than having a HIGH GRADES with me. Persepsyon ko po yon, yun po ako."

"Hindi niya hinayaan ang kanyang sarili na tignan ang kanyang kwaderno, sa halip inisip na magsabi ng katotohanan sapagkat hindi nga namn nya talaga masagutan ang aking mga katanungan," Teacher Rinzie said.

Teacher Rinzie added it was his first time to receive such an honest excuse from his student and he really appreciated it. He, however, clarified that he doesn't recommend students to follow this.

"Hindi ko nirerekomenda na gawin din ito ng iba pang mag-aaral. Sadyang BAGO lang para sa akin ito. (EFFORT din tayo)," he said.

Teacher Rinzie clarified that the student had an accident prior to the test, so he was unable to review. He, however, assured the student a special test will be given to him.

The post has received mixed reactions online. While many praised the honesty, many also said a little effort should have been exerted.

A netizen said, "Mabuti naman po yun but responsibility po nila yun bilang student, na mag aral most especially kung din naman po yun surprised quiz. If they don't want to cheat, they must study. Maybe there's a valid reason kung bakit di sya nakapag review and I salute those people na nagbibigay ng consideration sa mga estudyante and nakaka appreciate."

Another said, "Di ka ba nakikinig sa teacher ever since. May enumeration kahit isa wala sinagot kahit hula lang?"

Another netizen wrote, "Honesty is the best policy. Sabi sa nga ng anak ko, don't cheat because the first one being cheated is yourself. Ang mortal mong laban ay ang iyong konsenya."

The post has gone viral with over 26,000 reactions online since posting.
