It’s their 10-year wedding anniversary and one husband decided to give the best gift his wife could ever dream of: the wedding of their dreams!
It was in January 2010 that Jonathan and Marlyn Indino from Davao got married in a simple ceremony. Struggling with their finances at the time, the couple had practical wedding. But Jonathan knew that his wife always dreamed of having a beach wedding.
“I did not propose to her, I did not buy her an engagement ring. I could not afford any of those things,” Jonathan admitted.
As the years passed, the couple was blessed with three children and their finances got better. He would open their own BPO business, the ND-Know Solutions, which turned out to be a good decision.
“With each [kid] came a promotion, a new job offer, a better salary, and just a lifting of our financial shortcomings. We got to a place where bucket lists were not dreams, but just things you had to prepare for and you could get it,” Jonathan revealed.
Money wasn’t tight anymore and the couple could enjoy vacations with the family. But Jonathan noticed that Marlyn looks wistful each time she sees romantic wedding videos. So, a plan began to hatch in his mind for their 10th wedding anniversary. Instead of going on a regular trip, why not give her the beach wedding of her dreams?
So, with the help of Jourdan Anting who runs Casa de Fotografia with his wife, Diane Mecares, a wedding organizer at Wedding Diaries, they planned the surprise wedding at Pacific Little Secret, an island resort in Samal, Davao del Norte. It was the first resort they visited after giving birth to their firstborn; thus, it held a special place in their hearts.
Unbeknownst to Marlyn, he got their family and friends to go to the island ahead of time and hide while they prepared for the wedding. So that she wouldn’t suspect a thing, Jonathan told Marlyn that he wanted them to have a prenup photoshoot because hadn’t experienced one. So, when cameras and drones started clicking when they arrived at the island, she thought everything was just part of the pictorials.
While the team was glamming her up, Marlyn had no idea that their family and friends were already at the island, hiding near the beach and waiting for the wedding to start. When they made her wear a wedding dress, Marlyn still thought it was part of the pictorials. Imagine her surprise when the photographers led her to the beach and drew the giant curtains open, to reveal the wedding surprise!
Aside from their kids and parents, Jonathan had also brought the entire entourage from their first wedding! Their family and friends were also there at the beach, waiting for the surprised bride. It was definitely the best anniversary gift Marlyn could ever dream of…
