MANILA, Philippines – Matteo Guidicelli has reportedly punched Sarah Geronimo's bodyguard for leaking their "secret" civil wedding on Thursday night, February 20.
What was supposed to be Guidicelli and Geronimo's big day, turned sour after an altercation occurred in the middle of their civil ceremony.

A report from the Taguig police confirmed that Guidicelli punched Jerry Tamara, one of Sarah's bodyguards. The squabble occurred inside a luxury hotel in Bonifacio Global City.
According to Tamara's story, the actor banged him in the throat after learning that Geronimo's mother, "Mommy Divine" arrived unexpectedly during the ceremony. The event was apparently kept secret from Geronimo's mother.

Tamara said it was around 11 p.m. when the incident occurred. Guidicelli was allegedly furious after learning that it was the bodyguard who told Mommy Divine that the wedding would happen that night. Geronimo's mother was not informed about the wedding and was planning to talk to her daughter first.
Geronimo and Guidicelli have confirmed their relationship way back in 2014. The couple announced their engagement last November 2019. Shortly after the engagement announcement, Guidicelli wrote a lengthy message addressed to his then fiancée's family. He admitted that things were not going smoothly between them and apologized. He also told Geronimo's family that he will love and take care of her.
Matteo earlier said, "Mahal na mahal ko po si Sarah. Mahal ko din po kayong magulang niya at mga kapatid niya. Hangad ko po na maging isang pamilya tayo. Pangako ko po na aalagan ko si Sarah na kapareho ng pangangalaga ninyo sa kanya.”
