MANILA, Philippines – “Pilipinas Got Talent” grand champion Marcelito Pomoy wowed the world with his unique talent as he sang “The Prayer” in two voices during his first appearance on “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” edition, 2020. The judges and audience were so impressed with his rendition of the song, following the male and female voice parts of Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and Canadian soprano Celine Dion.

It can be recalled that Marcelito wowed everyone with his performance, leading many to call for judge Howie Mandel to press the Golden Buzzer. Though the judge didn’t do that, saying that it was too early to give out the precious Golden Buzzer, Marcelito was able to move to the Semi-Finals through the votes of the ‘super fans’.
A few days before the Semi-Finals scheduled on February 3 evening, US time (February 4 morning, Philippine time), “America’s Got Talent” posted a sneak peak of Marcelito’s performance on its official YouTube channel.
Amazingly, despite the video being just 48 seconds long and Marcelito’s performance shown in the just 37 seconds, the sneak peak racked up over a million views in just 1 day! It actually managed to reach nearly 3 million views just before the show started; though the preview would be removed from the YouTube channel just before the show started.
Marcelito wowed anew with his impressive rendition of “Con Te Partirò” by Andrea Bocelli. He sang the soprano (in falsetto) and tenor parts so beautifully that the judges mostly agreed he could win this special edition of the show!

Although Simon told him he might have to step up the game if he wants to truly wow in the Finals because the surprise factor won’t help him by then, the picky judge still admitted that he was impressed by Marcelito’s performance. He is definitely among the strongest contenders to become the grand champion!
