MANILA, Philippines – Manila City Mayor Francisco “Yorme Isko Moreno” Domagoso donates Php4 million from his talent fees to the residents of Batangas affected by Taal Volcano eruption.
The Mayor has been accepting various product endorsements but donates all his talent fees to various charitable institutions and causes. According to the Manila Public Information Office (PIO), Php2 million of the donation will come from his talent fee from KJA Food Summit Corp while the other Php2 million will come from his talent fee as model for Novuhair.
Aside from the Mayor’s personal donations to those affected by the eruption, the Manila City government also donated a total of Php2.5 million to five municipalities in Batangas, particularly the ones that were badly hit by the calamity.
The Manila PIO identified these as the municipalities of Talisay, Taal, Agoncillo, Lemery, and Laurel. According to the report by Manila PIO, the funds were taken from the city’s local disaster risk reduction and management fund. Each of the affected municipalities will receive Php500,000 from the donation.
On his Facebook page, the mayor announced:
“Donation by the City of Manila to municipalities badly affected by the eruption of the Taal Volcano: Php2.5 million.
#BagongMaynila”
A lot of people are donating to the victims of the Taal eruption, but there’s still a lot that needs to be done to help these people recover from the effects brought about by the eruption as many lost their homes and livelihood.
