#WalangPasok: Manila suspends classes, gov't work on January 9 for Traslacion 2020

In a Facebook post of Manila Public Information Office, Manila City Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso has ordered the suspension of classes in all levels in "all universities, colleges and schools".

Moreno also ordered the suspension of work in all departments, offices and bureaus under the Manila City government.

The order, however, "does not cover city government offices involved in maintaining peace and order, public services, traffic enforcement, disaster risk reduction and management as well as sanitation."

Moreno said work suspension for national government offices and private companies in Manila is “left to the discretion of their management and/or heads of office.”

At least 2.5 million devotees are expected to flock in this year's Black Nazarene Traslacion. Officials said it will be quicker than last year's 21-hour procession.
