MANILA, Philippines – Classes are still suspended in several areas on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 as Taal Volcano remains under Alert Level 4, which means a "hazardous eruption is possible within hours to days."
In its 4:00 p.m. update, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) strongly reiterates that total evacuation of the Volcano Island and high-risk areas within the 14-kilometer radius from the Taal Main Crater must be enforced.
Population in areas in the southwest are advised to guard against the effects of heavy and prolonged ashfall.
