MANILA, Philippines – In relationships, the guy is expected to be the one to propose marriage to the woman. However, a recent viral video shows the surprise wedding proposal done by a woman to her boyfriend. The video got mixed reactions; though most praised the woman for her bravery in doing this in public and for showing so much love for her boyfriend by being the one to propose marriage.
Netizens are calling Ulvic Berdecen as one of the luckiest guys in the world after his beautiful girlfriend, Cheska Galvez, publicly proposed to him at a restaurant while they were dining with family.
The two had only been together for a year but that was enough for Cheska to realize that she found ‘the one’ in Ulvic. It was Ulvic’s brother, Stephen Berdecen, who proudly shared a video of the proposal.
“Who says only man can propose? I’m proud that the Philippines screams equality ♥️☺️,” Stephen wrote.
According to Stephen, Cheska invited their family to dinner. While they were enjoying their food, they noticed that the music suddenly became loud. They thought it was a bit weird; though at first they guessed that someone was celebrating his/her birthday and was in for a surprise.
But the surprise turned out to be at their table because a few minutes later, the crew would give Ulvic some red roses. Surprised, Ulvic accepted the roses but was unsure what he should do next.
After receiving the third rose, Cheska arrived at the table to give him more flowers! Then, she got a small box out and offered him a ring. A bit shy about the whole thing, Cheska was not able to talk but simply pointed him to a tarpaulin that some friends were holding across the table.
“Will you marry me?” she asked from that tarpaulin message – and he said, “Yes!” Everyone applauded as the two hugged; though there were tears in some of their family members’ eyes.
The proposal was met with mixed reactions, mostly because it is not common for women to be the ones to propose marriage to their boyfriends.
A number of netizens think Cheska should have waited; yet more supported the proposal and said that Ulvic is one lucky guy! It takes one really strong, brave woman to propose marriage to her man – and she must truly love him so much to do so in public, with his family around.
