MANILA, Philippines – Employees who will report to work on April 9, 2020 (Thursday) are entitled to triple pay or “300 percent of their daily wage rate,” the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) confirmed on Thursday in a Facebook post.
This is to remind employers to implement pay rules on April 9, as both Araw ng Kagitingan and Maundy Thursday regular holidays fall on that day.

Meanwhile, if the employee did not work on April 9, they are entitled to “200 percent of their daily wage rate.”
Meanwhile, those who will work on graveyard shift, on their rest day or have overtime will have additional pay according to DOLE’s 2010 Handbook on Worker’s Statutory Monetary Benefits.

How about if the employee is absent on the said holiday, is he in titled to get those holiday pay?
