MANILA, Philippines – Photos of evacuees modeling the clothes they received as relief goods brought good vibes, with many netizens saying they were impressed with the Batangueños positivity even in the difficult situation they are in.
When Taal Volcano erupted on Sunday, January 12, many of the locals evacuated with only a few basic needs they could carry. Those who had vehicles were able to bring essentials like stove, beddings, food and other supplies, but many only had a handful of clothes and some food. A lot of them had to rely on relief goods brought to the evacuation center by government officials and kindhearted netizens.
Thankfully, donations poured in from many places. A lot of people happily shared their blessings to those affected by the volcanic eruption. Many sent food packs, beddings, water, medicines, and clothes.

As expected, though, the clothes were given at random – and many of the evacuees were unable to find or receive clothes to fit their gender and size. There were also plenty of clothes that didn’t seem fit to use on a day-to-day basis, including formal attire and special uniforms.
Instead of complaining, though, the Batangueños appreciated the help! They were still thankful for the donations they received, whether they received formal attire or school uniforms or some other clothes that didn’t even fit them. What’s important for them is that they are alive and that many people helped them out!
On Facebook page “Byaheng Lemery”, photos of the evacuees trying on and modeling the relief goods brought good vibes to netizens, with the posts captioned as “Pormahan sa Evacuation Center”.
The evacuees had big smiles on their faces as they modeled school uniforms, security guard uniforms, ‘bodyguard’ uniforms, and even a Girl Scout uniform worn by an elderly woman.
Others modeled bathrobes, gowns, ‘80s and ‘90s fashion items, and many others.
Because there were fewer items available for men, there were guys who happily accepted (and wore!) duster dresses and other female clothing articles. Yet through it all, the big smiles and the good vibes radiating from them truly brought smiles to netizens’ hearts as well. It’s great to see that these people appreciated the help they were getting from everyone.
