The exact time of occurrence of the quake was recorded at 8:59 PM with epicenter at 13.74N, 120.90E - 005 km S 68° W of Mabini, Batangas.
The earthquake has a tectonic origin with 12 km depth of focus.
The quake was felt at Intensity I in Tagaytay City.
Phivolcs is not expecting damage or aftershocks from the quake.
Batangas province is currently under a state of calamity due to Taal Volcano eruption.
