MANILA, Philippines – A couple who both work as factory workers in Taiwan recently went viral for sharing inspiring photos of the house that they built in the 3 years that they are overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). With so many OFWs unable to build a house even if they’ve been working for many years abroad, the couple’s story served as inspiration to many.
Ricky Jay Javate shares photos of the house that he and his girlfriend Sharmaine Fernandez Mamaril built for their future family. The 2-story home is built in Brgy. Tambac in Malasiqui, Pangasinan.
In a series of photos, Ricky shared how he and his girlfriend planned on building a house from their savings as OFWs. In the first picture, they shared the contract for the house; though at the time, they were unsure whether they are able to fully pay the lot and build a house.
But through hard work and determination, the two managed to save their money and put all their savings to building the house of their dreams. Little by little they were able to save enough to start building their 2-story dream house.
Although both were living in Taiwan by the time that they started building the house, they found help in their parents who oversaw the project. They worked overtime to have extra cash to build the house. When they encountered trouble during the 6th month because Taiwan experienced crisis and they were unable to work overtime, the two opened an online shop to earn some extra cash.
In just a year after they started the construction, the two are finally able to enjoy the fruits of their labor. They bought comfortable and lovely furnishings for their home.
Happy and proud with what they achieved, Ricky shared some tips to help others also achieve their dreams.
Tip #1 - Know your Goals
Tip #2 - Planning and Budgeting
You need to have a Target every month.
Tip #3 - Be Consistent
From first to last month ng contrata mo dapat di ka papalya sa Monthly Target. Number one tip "Magtipid"
Tip #4 - No Excuses
Excuses are not allowed pag may pangarap ka. Sabi nga nila. Don't stop when [you’re] tired, Stop when [you’re] Done . hahaha
Tip #5 Pray
Last but not the least Wag makakalimut sa taas. Wag susuko.
