Back in his younger days, Pacquiao dropped out of school due to poverty. Decades later, he became one of the richest, most famous people in the Philippines. He no longer needs a degree now that he’s a rich guy, a lot of netizens would argue, but the fighting senator proved that it is never too late for one to achieve their dreams.

So, even if he’s rich and would probably not need to have a degree, Pacquiao enrolled in Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Major in Local Government Administration at the University of Makati (UMak). On Wednesday, December 11, Pacquiao joins the more than 400 graduates of the university as they received their respective degrees.

In photos shared by YouScooper Edu Riparip, Pacquiao and the many graduates of the university looked on as their degrees were confirmed by Acting UMak President, Makati City Mayor Abby Binay.
What’s sweet is that before the graduation ceremony, the senator proudly shared a photo of himself as a young boxer. He shared the throwback photo with the caption, “Dream it. Believe it. Achieve it.” Indeed, Pacquiao has come a long way from that poor, high school dropout boxer who had only joined the sport so he could have money to feed himself and his family!

It can be recalled that Pacquiao did not return to finish high school as he was able to pass the level through the Department of Education's Alternative Learning System. He would become the program’s ambassador in 2007.

Pacquiao actually took up business administration at Notre Dame of Dadiangas University in 2008. But his degree in political science is deemed as important by many of his fans, particularly now that he is serving as one of the country’s top senators.
According to reports, the senator plans to continue his Master’s Degree in Harvard University.
