MANILA, Philippines – The grand coronation night for the 68th edition of Miss Universe pageant happens on Sunday, December 8, 2019 (Monday, December 9 Manila time) at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States. Ninety candidates are vying for the most coveted crown and the priviledge of being the Miss Universe 2019.
Our very own Miss Philippines' Catriona Gray will crown her successor at the end of the competition.
Miss Philippines Gazini Ganados is all-out for the country's fifth Miss Universe crown and rare back-to-back win. She was named a frontrunner to bring home the title by pageant enthusiasts.
UPDATE: South Africa's Zozibini Tunzi wins Miss Universe 2019
During the preliminary competition, the Cebuana beauty queen showed off her signature "Phoenix walk" which brought loud cheers. Gazini looked regal and pure royalty as she donned a golden long gown custom-made by popular Filipino fashion designer Cary Santiago.

Two (20) candidates from the pool will be announced at the start of the pageant. Judging is based on closed-door interview, online voting and preliminary competition, which featured contestants competing in swimsuit and evening gown.
The event is hosted by comedian and Emmy award winner Steve Harvey. Olivia Culpo and Vanessa Lachey will serve as backstage corespondents.
The three-hour special programming event airs live on FOX in the United States (also airing in Spanish on Telemundo) and FOXlife on cable/satellite TV in the Philippines (Cignal).

ABS-CBN Channel 2 airs on free television the live broadcast of Miss Universe 2019 at 8:00 in the morning.
It is also available on free livestreaming on ABS-CBN’s streaming service iWant (iwant.ph on browser or iWant app on iOS and Android).
Filipinos can also root for the country’s bet via SKYcable channels 167 (Metro Manila) and 700 (regional areas), as well as online via SKY on Demand.
Pageant fans, meanwhile, can relive Gazini’s battle against the other candidates on Metro Channel (channel 52) on December 17 at 7pm, with replays on December 18 (8am), December 20 (9pm), December 22 (8am), and December 25 (3pm).
