MANILA, Philippines – Team Philippines and Indonesia clash anew today, December 9 in the bronze medal match of the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games women's volleyball.
The National team, headed by veterans Aby Maraño and Alyssa Valdez, is hoping to clinch a win in the tournament to salvage the pride as they are winless in the preliminary round.
UPDATE: Philippines Women's Volleyball team falls short of winning against Indonesia in five-set bronze medal match.
Game time is at 3:30 p.m. and now airs live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, iWant and via livestream.
Despite dropping all of their three matches in the round robin prelims including a 25-22, 26-28, 22-25, 14-25, defeat at the hands of Indonesia last Saturday, the Filipinas remain hopeful of their chance to redeem themselves and finish the biennial meet with a medal.
The last podium finish for Philippines was in 2005 when it bagged the bronze medal in Bacolod.
Meanwhile, the 11-time defending champion Thailand takes on Vietnam at 6:00 p.m. in the gold medal match.
