MANILA, Philippines – The October 2019 Philippine Science High School (PSHS) National Competitive Exam (NCE) full results together with the list of passers for academic year AY 2020-2021 are released online on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 or less than two (2) months after the exam.

The 2019 NCE was administered by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to 30,986 examinees (incoming Grade 7 students) on October 19, 2019 in several test centers nationwide. Examination in Region 12 was moved to November 9 due to earthquake occurrences in the area.
UPDATE: As announced, 1,540 out of 30,986 (4.97%) examinees successfully hurdled the one-step screening administered on October 2019.

NCE RESULTS RELEASE
NCE results are usually being released every December. Same with previous years, it will be published in a major newspaper and on PSHS official website. Around 5% of the takers are expected to pass the examinations.
In PSHS Main Campus in Diliman, Quezon City - 240 NCE qualifiers are accepted per year. In four regional campuses: (1) Central Luzon Campus in Clark Freeport Zone; (2) CALABARZON Region Campus in Batangas City; (3) Western Visayas Campus in Iloilo; and (4) Southern Mindanao Campus in Davao City —120 NCE qualifiers are accepted per campus. For the rest of the regional campuses, 90 NCE qualifiers are accepted per campus.
PREVIOUS EXAMINATIONS
In the same period last year, NCE results were out after two (2) months. Of the 32,651 applicants, 1,470* (4.50%) examinees successfully passed the one-step screening. The exam was administered on October 20 and with results released on December 18.
In the 2017 NCE, results were also released in 2 months after the exams. Of the 26,413 applicants, 1,361 (5.15%) successfully hurdled the test. The exam conducted on October 21 had results out on December 19.
In the 2016 exams, results were announced after three months or in January 2017 due to the delay caused by super typhoon Lawin that hit Northern Luzon areas. Of the 25,405 applicants, 1,340 (5.27%) examinees successfully passed the exams.
In the 2015 NCE, 1,355 out of 22,791 (5.94%) successfully passed the exams. The test which was conducted on October 3 had results released after more than 2 months or on December 13.
PSHS NCE Overview
The NCE is a scholastic aptitude test for incoming Grade 7 students that will assess the applicant’s aptitude in Science, Math, Language, and Abstract Reasoning. Qualifiers for PSHS scholarship are those who earned high scores in NCE.
Applicants include grade 6 elementary pupil from a duly recognized school by the Department of Education who meets the following criteria is eligible to apply for the PSHS National Competitive Examination (NCE).

PSHS scholars get a monthly stipend in addition to free tuition and free loan of textbooks. Uniform, transportation, and living allowances are also given according to financial need. Scholars are expected to meet the highest standard of scholastic achievement and behavior.
The PSHSS is a specialized public high school system in the Philippines that operates as an attached agency of the DOST. It is considered as the top high school in the country and is viewed to be one of the best in the ASEAN region.

- have a final grade of 85% or better in Science and Mathematics, evidenced by the student's report card. If the student's grades in Science or Math are below 85%, then, he/she must provide evidence that he/she belongs to the upper 10% of the class;
- be a Filipino citizen with no pending or approved application as immigrant to any foreign country;
- be born on or after August 1, 2004;
- have at least a satisfactory rating (or its equivalent) in his/her Character Rating in his/her report card (SY 2018 - 2019);
- not have taken the PSHS NCE previously; and
- preferably, be in good health and fit to undergo a rigorous academic program.
