MANILA, Philippines – Presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo has accepted the "commute challenge" as he rode a jeepney from his home to Malacañang early Friday.
Wearing a white polo and cap, Panelo took selfies of his commute and shared to media.
This came after he received criticism on his statement denying transport crisis in Metro Manila.
"Walang crisis kasi walang paralysis. Pero may crisis tayo pagdating sa paghihirap ng mga kababayan natin," he said.
Panelo gave update that he will not go directly to Malacañang and would be going to areas affected by the gripping traffic.
Meanwhile, Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) Secretary General Renato Reyes, who challenged Panelo to commute waited the spokesperson at the LRT-2 Santolan Station around 5:00 a.m.
Reyes dared Panelo to go through throughfares that are always congested.
After the jeepney rides, Panelo said to ride LRT at Gilmore station.
