On Tuesday, Bong expressed his joy after learning about his son’s achievement.

“I am very proud of my son. Hindi ko mailarawan ang kaligayahang nadadama ko ngayon,” he exclaimed.

But the proud dad is yet to congratulate his son in person as he is currently with President Rodrigo Duterte who is in Japan to attend the enthronement of Emperor Naruhito. Still, he shared that he is very proud of the young man, recognizing his efforts and sacrifices while in school.

Just like other dads, Bong wished Christian more success in life.

“Bilang isang ama, wala akong ibang hinahangad kundi makitang matagumpay ang aking mga anak. I’m also happy that we now have a new roster of certified public accountants,” he happily said.

The senator could not help but add that he and his son now had something in common.

“Nagkataon na pareho kaming top 3--- ako noong nakaraang halalan at siya ngayon naman sa CPA licensure exams,” he half-jokingly added, referring to his rank during the May senatorial race.

Aside from praising his son, Bong also congratulated the rest of the CPA board passers, instructing them to practice their new profession conscientiously.

But younger Go’s achievement does not come as a surprise to many of those who knew him personally. Not actually living under the shadow of his famous father, this young man was a member of the Jose Rizal Honors Society and had graduated summa cum laude from De La Salle University - Manila.
