MANILA, Philippines - (UPDATED) A private plane crashed in a resort area in Calamba City, Laguna on Sunday, September 1.
The plane crashed around 3:34 p.m. at Miramonte Village in Brgy. Pansol, police confirmed to media.
In a Facebook video of Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) chief Jeffrey Rodriguez, the incident caused huge fire to break out.
Fire was under control at 4:45 p.m.
UPDATE: Death toll rises to 9. The fatalities aboard the King AIR 350, an 11-seater plane were:
1. Capt Jesus Hernandez(pilot)
2. First Officer Lino Cruz Jr.(co-pilot)
3. Garret Garcia, a physician
4. Kirk Eoin Badilla, nurse
5. Yamato Togawa, nurse
6. Ryx Gil Laput
7. Raymond Bulacja
8. Tom Carr- patient
9. Erma Carr – wife of patient
Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) spokesperson Eric Apolonio said that the medical evacuation aircraft lost contact with the Manila Control Tower at 3:10 p.m. on Sunday.
It has plate number RPC2296 and en route to Manila from Dipolog City in Zamboanga del Norte.
