MANILA, Philippines – Twins who were born premature celebrated a double win as they both passed board exams in flying colors.
Jose Gabriel and Jose Raphael Delos Santos were hailed topnotchers in the board exams of their respective fields. Jose Gabriel placed sixth in the September 2019 Electrical Engineer Licensure Exam, while Jose Raphael, ranked eighth during the November 2018 Nursing board exam.
For the mother of twin brothers, Jose Gabriel and Jose Raphael, their lives are not only blessings but miracles from God. Mom Elizabeth gave birth to the twins by 7th month and they only weighed at 3lbs weight.
"Parang raw kuting," she described them.
The mom even recalled what the doctor told her as she handled her newborn preemies, "Alagaang mabuti, baka di magtagal."
The twins' uncle, Jovenal Gaspar Madulid, shared how the two boys grew up to become healthy smart men. He said, "Luckily, parehong lumaking healthy, mabait at matalino."
Jose Gabriel and Jose Raphael stood by each other. More than brothers, the twins grew up as each other's classmate from nursery to high school, barkada and close friend.
When they reached college, the brothers decided to take different courses. Jose Raphael took up nursing as his pre-med course while Jose Gabriel took up engineering.
Their family was hoping the twins would pass their separate board exam. But they again exceeded everyone's expectations and became part of the top 10 in their respective board exams.
Jose Gabriel and Jose Raphael's family were thankful that God granted the twins another unexpected blessing. Their uncle Jovenal wrote, "God gave us so many blessings. From premature babies na baka daw hindi magtagal, they turned healthy and now received a special gift from God. Lord, thank you."
