Back in 2012, Vien Christian graduated from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) with the degree of BS Pharmacy. He went on to rank as Top 4 in the Board Exam after garnering a rating of 91.05%.
He received a scholarship at Far Eastern University – Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation, completing medical degree as US Alumni Scholar.
After graduation, he wrote a ‘speech’ he posted on Facebook.
“Since there is no allotted time for speech during the graduation program, I will make it up with this instead.
First and foremost, utmost praise and thanks to God for all the blessings and sustaining us through these 4 years. Whenever I hit a bump in this rough road to MD, I close my eyes and say a prayer and immediately feel comforted by Your love. May You use these hands of mine as instruments to heal those in need.

Medicine can be summed up by the following:
4 years – of hard work… to earn…
3 stripes – in our Togas.. to get…
2 letters – MD
1 dream – to become licensed physicians (coming soon)”
In the speech, he thanked the many people who had been instrumental in helping him graduate from his medical degree, including his batchmates.
Just like many students and workers in the medical field, Vien Christian and his batchmates missed a lot of special events and family time because they were busy with their studies and long duty hours; thus, he also thanked his family and friends for understanding this aspect of his life.
“I would also like to thank my family especially my parents for working tirelessly to provide me with the best this world has to offer, to send me to medical school despite already equipping me with tools essential to start a career as a pharmacist, to be there always behind believing in me and cheering me on forward. Thank you Ma, Dad and Chelsy. I love you all so much! I hope I made you proud,” Vien Christian added.
