MANILA, Philippines – Did you know that majority of Filipinos don’t have a bank account? That’s actually 52.8 million people, according to data from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. And while there are many who do have bank accounts, most of us actually have less maintaining balance in these accounts after withdrawing our salary.
But one netizen posted about feeling ‘hampaslupa’ after seeing the account balance of the previous user at the ATM he and his friends used.
In a now viral post on Facebook, Charles Robert Gomez Coloma half-joked about feeling so low after seeing the account balance in the slip left by the previous user.
Whoever it was who withdrew money before Coloma took Php5,000 from her account, leaving a whopping balance of Php1,876,420.46. It’s a balance that most people could only dream of but never actually see in their bank accounts; thus, Coloma snapped a photo of the withdrawal slip the woman had left behind to share with his friends.
A lot of people commented that they could easily relate to the hilarious caption on his post; thus, this quickly went viral.
Some people tried to make light of the situation, saying that this girl was surely just asked to withdraw from someone else’s bank account, perhaps from the company ATM.
Others joked that they should have robbed the owner, while many netizens said it would be a great motivator for everyone to try their best and have that account balance in the future…
