MANILA, Philippines - Gilas Pilipinas, the country's national team, is set to battle in the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup starting this Saturday, August 31 in Foshan, China. View here for Gilas schedule of games, live streaming video and result of the match.
The official 12-man roster of Gilas Pilipinas were announced on Sunday, August 25 after the team's second tune-up game against the Adelaide 36ers of Australia's NBL.

PBA rookies CJ Perez and Robert Bolick will debut on the big stage. Joining the lineup are June Mar Fajardo, Andray Blatche, Paul Lee, Japeth Aguilar, Roger Pogoy, Mark Barroca, Raymund Almazan, Gabe Norwood, Troy Rosario, and Kiefer Ravena.
Meanwhile, out of the pool were Beau Belga, Poy Erram, and Matthew Wright. Erram and Wright are currently nursing injuries.
The Philippines (ranked 31st in the world) was drawn into Group D with Serbia (4), Italy (13) and Angola (39). They will play all of its group phase matches in Foshan at the Foshan International Sports and Cultural Center from August 31 to September 4.
FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Group D Schedule and Results
NOTE: This will be the second game between the Philippines and Italy in the World Cup. The Italians won the first meeting in 1978, which was also the last competitive game between the two teams. Meanwhile, this will be the first competitive game between Angola/Serbia and the Philippines.
If the Philippines finishes as one of the top two teams in Group D, they will advance to the second round of the tournament and will play against one of the top two finishers of Group C, which is composed of Iran, Puerto Rico, Spain, and Tunisia, in Wuhan. If they failed they will participate in the classification round and play against one of the bottom finishers of Group C in Beijing.
