MANILA, Philippines – A couple in Benguet earned praise for using vegetables as unique wedding decor, but Benguet farmers are also being praised for the huge vegetables featured at this impressive wedding in La Trinidad.
In this special wedding, vegetables were used as unique décor instead of the usual flowers; yet the effect was truly awesome that photos of the event would soon go viral on Facebook.
Instead of using flowers as decoration at the San Jose Parish Church in La Trinidad, Benguet where they got married in July 2019, Claver and Fleann Molot exchanged vows amid the lush vegetables that came from local farms.
Netizens were not just impressed by the unique idea of using vegetables as decoration for the wedding, everyone was also amazed at how big these vegetables were! Many netizens pointed out that huge vegetables like the ones in the wedding can only be found in Benguet.
At this unique wedding, the aisle of the church was decorated with large heads of pechay and cabbage plus broccoli and cauliflower. Even the altar had an abundance of vegetables that made the place look like a beautiful garden, with some flowers as an accent to the mostly green décor.
The budget-friendly wedding décor turned out to be the brainchild of the couple’s aunt who suggested that they use vegetables instead of flowers to create a unique wedding that won’t cost a lot of money. Since there’s an abundance of fresh vegetables in Benguet, the idea was certainly a great one.
Plus, the couple was able to showcase the products of their locality as the post went viral on various social media channels and local news outlets.
The couple also revealed that none of the vegetable decorations were thrown away because after the wedding, their guests were sent home with some of the vegetables! The couple certainly got a ‘sulit’ deal with their vegetable décor – and they event became famous for their unique décor!
Congratulations, Claver and Fleann Molot!
