MANILA, Philippines – (Updated July 22) Classes have been suspended in select areas and schools on Monday, July 22, 2019 as President Rodrigo Duterte is set to deliver his 4th State of the Nation Address (SONA).
While SONA 2019 is not declared holiday throughout the country, some areas to be affected by heavy traffic and mass demonstrations are given a break.

On Thursday, Mayor Joy Belmonte has ordered the suspension of classes in all levels in both public and private in Quezon City. It was announced through a Facebook post.

As announced by Presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo, Duterte will have “short” speech this time because of the pre-Sona forum this July.
