MANILA, Philippines – The road to finale nears as Idol Philippines named the five (5) grand finalists on Sunday, July 21 after eliminating one hopeful in the live round.
Lucas Garcia from Lipa, Batangas and Zephanie Dimaranan from Biñan, Laguna led the scoreboard with 99.88 and 96.08%, respectively.

It was followed by Dan Ombao from Bataan, garnering 73.45%.
Dimaranan wowed with her rendition of Gary Valenciano's "Wag Ka Nang Umiyak".
"Bukod sa napakaganda ng itsura mo, napakaganda rin ng boses mo at ng character mo," judge Vice Ganda told Zeph.
"From the very first word you sing, you already get our attention," judge James added.
Completing the list are Miguel Odron from Indiana, USA and Lance Busa from Agusan Del Norte obtaining 56.65 and 56.57%, respectively.
Meanwhile, Elle Ocampo from Pampanga was eliminated after getting the lowest combined score from the judges and public votes.
The finale round dubbed as 'Final Showdown' is set on July 27 and 28 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila.
Idol Philippines airs on ABS-CBN Channel 2 after Home Sweetie Home on Saturdays and after Hiwaga ng Kambat on Sundays.
The show is hosted by singer-actor Billy Crawford; while the judging panel is composed of singer-actress Regine Velasquez, comedian and television presenter Vice Ganda, singer-actor James Reid, and singer-songwriter Moira Dela Torre.
