MANILA, Philippines – (Updated August 8) The Malacañang Palace has declared August 12, 2019 (Monday) a regular holiday throughout the country for Eidul Adha or "Feast of Sacrifice."

Saudi Arabia's Um al-Qura calendar marks Eidul Adha 2019 Muslim Festival in the second week of August, with the official date and confirmation to be announced by the High Judicial Court (HJC) after the moon sighting.
As Eid ul Adha falls on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, this year the tentative dates are accounted as the 11th or the 12th of August 2019, depending on the region or country.
Note that for Eid al-Fitr 2019 (Feast of Ramadan), with projection either on June 4 and 5, the Philippine government declared regular holiday on the second day of the calculated date.
Eid al-Adha, one of largest religious festivals for Muslims worldwide, marks the willingness of Ibrahim (also known as Abraham) to sacrifice his son Ishmael (Ismail or Ismael) as an act of obedience to God, before God then intervened, to provide him with a sheep to sacrifice instead.
In the Philippines, Republic Act (RA) 9849 signed in 2009 says the tenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah or the twelfth month of the Islamic Calendar, is hereby declared as a national holiday for the observance of Eidul Adha.
According to Proclamation No. 555 for the nationwide holidays for the year 2019, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) shall inform the Office of the President of the actual date of Eidul Adha on which this holiday shall fall.
The Department of Education (DepEd) Order No. 007, series of 2019 calendar for school year 2019-2020 already includes August 12 as a regular holiday for Eid'l Adha.
UPDATE: Filipinos will have two long weekends this month – August 10-12 and August 24-26 for National Heroes' Day weekend. This is aside from August 21 (Wednesday), declared special (non-working) holiday for Ninoy Aquino Day.
