MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang Palace has declared June 24, 2019 (Monday) as a special non-working holiday in the City of Manila to mark the celebration of its 448th Foundation Anniversary.
Executive Secretary Salvador C. Medialdea on Thusday, June 6, released the signed copy of Proclamation No. 731.
"It is fitting and proper that the people of the City of Manila be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occassion with appropriate ceremonies," stated in the proclamation.

The City of Manila is the capital of the Philippines. It was founded on June 24, 1571, by Spanish conquistador Miguel López de Legazpi.
