The daughter of missionaries who moved to Thailand after she graduated from high school, Nicole Louise Nicolas Poblete admitted that she struggled with the language barrier as well as the cultural differences between her new home and the Philippines.

Yet she managed to overcome those challenges with the help of friends she met along the way.

“Nahirapan talaga akong mag-adjust sa culture at language noong una. My friends and the people I've met, sila talaga tumulong sa akin,” Nicole revealed.

Nicole’s family hails from Laoag City, Ilocos Norte where she was a consistent honor student from elementary to high school. They moved to Bangkok, Thailand after her parents answered the call for missionaries. Nicole does not only excel in school, she also makes sure to spend time with her family and in church. In fact, she is also a worship leader in their church.

She chose the course of Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication, Major in Radio and TV Broadcasting when she enrolled at Ramkhamhaeng University (RU) Institute of International Studies in Bangkok, Thailand.

With her parents as her inspiration, knowing how hard they are working to provide for the family’s needs and to send her as well as her two younger siblings to school, Nicole did her best in her studies.

“Not everyone has the privilege to get an education. If you are fortunate enough, make the most out of it and be thankful,” Nicole shared.

Following her own advice, she made sure to study hard – and her hard work paid off. She recently graduated as Summa Cum Laude, the highest honor a graduate could ever receive in college.

“My advice when it comes to success is to not wait for life to be easy kasi kung 'yun ang hinihintay niyo, wala tayong mapapala,” the inspiring young lady shared.

Now that she has graduated from college, Nicole plans on finding a job to help her family and to also pursue a higher degree of education by enrolling in a Master’s Degree program.
