MANILA, Philippines – Five years ago, George Anas Jr. and his wife Charmilyn were so deep in debt and earning very little money that they had to survive on a value pack of corned beef worth Php7. But through hard work and determination, they were able to turn their fortunes around and are now enjoying great success as their business boomed.
The couple owns a consultancy company, which offers a unique 4-in-1 selling opportunity for its partners after it diversified to include auto loans, real estate, travel and tours, and visa / education consulting.
Their multi-million 4-in-1 company has given them the life they had only wished for in the past. Instead of having to divide a pack of Php7-corned beef, they could now indulge in whatever food they want to eat. They can also travel anywhere they like and are enjoying other luxuries, such as their own house and a Mercedes Benz!
Finding Success
On their shared Facebook page, George & Chin Inspirations, the couple posts insights about their inspiring journey to success.
“Chin and I share a common struggle 5 years back. She used to depend on a corned beef value pack worth Php7.00 as an employee earning minimum wage while I depended on pancit canton as unemployed to survive the week. I sold siomai, pizza roll, hotdog bun, etc. for a living while finding a decent job. People were laughing but we didn't really care.
We started as a team and we made it through life’s battles as a team. Some think we're lucky to be living the life we have now but the truth is, before we were able to enjoy the finer things that we have today, we've had to go through the worst.”
The couple’s post has inspired a lot of people who are struggling in life and are having a difficult time getting out of debt. Many feel hopeful that like these two, they can also bounce back and enjoy a successful life in the future.
Bashers aren’t happy
But not everyone is impressed. Many are also bashing the couple for ‘bragging’ about their wealth and for making money and expensive things as definitions of success.
“Sad how almost everyone's success is now because they're able to buy the more expensive things in the world. Let's inspire and encourage people to work hard to be able to help other people. Because when the time comes, God won't ask us how many or what type of cars we bought or how big and expensive our house was, but who we let in and helped, how much we shared. Let our goals be eternal,” one netizen wrote.
In reply, the couple wrote:
“Chin and I appreciate your comment. We completely agree that material things don’t matter in the end. We also hope that you look beyond the benz and focus on the intention. We’ve been through the worst when we were starting and we know how it feels to be struggling in life. The reason why we posted this is not to attract attention and magnify our own success but to inspire and encourage couples like us to stick together as a team even during the worst times.
We’ve been receiving thousands messages of gratitude for this post because it gave them inspiration to keep going despite what they are going through right now. I hope that counts as Inspiring and encouraging other people. Stay Inspired! - George & Chin”
