Alfonsa has many dreams for herself and for her family. But because life wasn't easy for them, she chose to work first instead of pursuing college.

At the age of 14, Tilasa started working as a househelp. She has been jumping from one employer to another until she met Marivic Flores.

It was Marivic who convinced Tilasa to finish her studies. She encouraged her to be a working student.

The kind employer admitted that she encouraged her househelp to study because they said it brings good luck to their business and she really wanted to help Tilasa.

The determined househelp received a scholarship for her studies. Tilasa worked hard and studied harder to pursue her dreams. In the morning, she finished her errands at Marivic’s household and at night, she would be a hardworking student.
