MANILA, Philippines – Kuwait Airways brings good news to our Filipino workers. The airline is looking at hiring hardworking Filipinos willing to work in Kuwait.
With the recent opening of Kuwait Airways Terminal 4, the airline is need of more ground personnel. Despite the Philippines statement that they will lessen the deployment of Overseas Filipino Workers, Kuwait Airways is still opening its doors to job opportunities for Filipinos.
As many as 200 Filipino workers are needed by Kuwait's flag carrier. Last year, Kuwait Airways already had a mass hiring for as many as 400 vacancies.
This year, the vacancies available vary from cargo operators to engineers and technicians. The Kuwait Airways recruitment team will be in Manila from March 15-22 to interview applicants for the cargo staff positions.
For those applying as aircraft engineers and technicians, the interview will begin on April 15.
Cargo deputy director of Kuwait Airways Cargo operations, Ezz Eldin Al Hasawi said that the vacancies are open for both male and female. The monthly compensation may range from P37,000 to P59,000 for those hired for the cargo department.
For aircraft engineers and aircraft mechanics, they can expect a salary of P67,000 to P257,000.
Hired applicants will be given free food allowance, accomodation and even free transportation. The company will also shoulder free air ticket going home to the Philippines after the 2-year contract.
Currently, there are around 400 Filipino workers employed by Kuwait Airways. A Filipino head waiter Greg Alcantara said that he is satisfied and grateful to be employed by the airline. He said, “Maganda ang trabaho rito. Bukod sa 27 years na ako rito sa Kuwait at sa blessings na binigyan kami ng opportunity na makapagtrabaho rito, 'yung aking anak naipasok ko rin dito, flying crew.”
Assistant Labor Attache Teresa Olgado of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office had earlier reminded applicants to be wary of employment agencies posting vacancies. She said, “Paalala lamang po sa mga nais na mag-apply, makipag-ugnayan lamang sa ahensiyang may aprubadong job order at lisensyado ng POEA.”
Interested applicants may send their application to Yaazeemir International Manpower Agency, 4th floor, Room 405, AP Building 1563, F. Agoncillo corner Pedro Gil Street, Ermita, Manila or call them at 230-3090 or 230-2514.
