"We are declaring a province-wide suspension of classes in all levels starting tomorrow, January 3, 2019. Classes will resume on January 7, 2019," Camarines Sur Gov. Miguel Luis Villafuerte said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
Camarines Sur is still under State of Calamity due to the damage caused by 'Usman', the 21st tropical cyclone that had entered the Philippine Area of responsibility (PAR) last year.
The suspension in Camarines Sur was made to “ensure the safety of everyone, especially of school children, and to give more time to their families to recover from the recent typhoon."
For the rest of the country, classes in public schools will have to resume on January 3 according to the Department of Education (DepEd). Only private schools have the discretion to move it.
