MANILA, Philippines – Who will draw the first blood in the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup Finals?
The Alaska Aces and Magnolia Hotshots' best-of-seven title showdown begins tonight, December 5 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
UPDATE: Magnolia dominates Alaska, takes Game 1, 100-84. Mark Barroca named best player of the game with 16 points, 6 steals, 3 assists and 2 rebounds.
Players return to the battle after nearly three weeks rest. The long break is to give way to Gilas Pilipinas, aiming for a spot in the 2019 FIBA World Cup. The Nationals suffered heartbreaking losses against Kazakhstan and Iran.
With enough preparations for both teams for the finals, basketball fans may expect a thrilling match.
"Ang kinaibahan lang siguro eh parehong fresh ang dalawa, kaya baka mas mataas ang level ng labanan sa series na ito," said Magnolia coach Chito Victolero.
"Alaska and Magnolia clash in what many feel as a matchup to watch for many good reasons, most especially its similar exciting brand of defensive-oriented, fast-paced hardnosed play," shared by pba.ph.
