MANILA, Philippines – Coca-Cola Philippines has decided to cut short and postpone the free Coke Studio Christmas Concert held at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds on Friday, December 7 for safety reasons.
In an announcement on Facebook, Coca-Cola said the "unsafe behavior" of portions of the audience such as pushing, jumping on the barricades and throwing bottles threatened the safety of the rest of the concert-goers. This is despite the numerous reminders from the security personnel.
"Our number one priority is always the safety and security of our audience. Together with Philippine National Police, the City of Pasay, SM Mall of Asia, and all the artists, we have deemed it necessary to RESCHEDULE the concert to the first quarter of 2019," Coca-Cola said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the company promised for "bigger and better" Coke Studio concert.
As also announced Friday, there was a technical difficulties at the venue that caused the concert to be delayed for 2 hours.
"We will endeavor to get a venue that can accommodate more attendees. Hopefully, we can all enjoy the upcoming concert without putting other people at risk," Coca-Cola added.
K-Pop idol Kriesha Chu, The Black Eyed Peas member Apl.de.ap and local stars Sam Concepcion, Ben and Ben, Moira dela Torre, Khalil Ramos, December Avenue, IV of Spades, Quest, Juan Miguel Severo are among the artists lined-up for the Christmas concert.
