MANILA, Philippines – Halfway in the weeklong celebration of It’s Showtime’s 9th anniversary, Team Anne Curtis and Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla presented another outstanding performance as part of Magpasikat 2018.
This year, the team of Anne Curtis is composed of Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla with Hashtags Jameson Blake, Ryle Santiago, Tom Doromal and Girltrends Sammie Rimando and Kamille Filoteo.
Team’s performance opens to “The Greatest Show-MaAnne” with Jameson inviting everyone to enjoy their show. Inspired by the the hit movie “P. T. Barnum’s The Greatest Showman,” the team had a circus theme complete with graceful dancers and acrobats on silk by the Girltrends Sammie and Kamille.

They even had Ryle and Tom dance on wires or known as “slackline” to the heart-pumping song of 1901 by Phoenix. But the finale of the performance was when Anne and Mariel surprised the madlang people with their “buwis-buhay” aerial performance. The audience were cheering and shouting as Anne and Mariel were sent high up near the ceiling as the performed a graceful aerial acrobats.
And to end their exhilarating number, Anne gave the floor to Mariel as she had her own solo aerial performance much to the delight of the audience.
This year’s judges also had very good words to share about the team’s performance. Judges Ronnie and Mariz Ricketts was so impressed with the stunts “you guys nailed it.” They added that it was truly a “heart-stopping performance”.
Judge Shalani Romulo couldn’t help but rap Salbakuta’s “Stupid Love” because she was so happy. She exclaimed “Ang galing, galing, galing talaga.”
Judge Rey Abellana also had nothing but compliments for the team saying that it was “Kayo, kayo na talaga.” Gus Abelgas also remarked how fun it was to see the team perform, “kagila-gilalas ang talentong kanilang pinalabas.”
Last year, Anne’s team was with Nadine Lustre and Ryan Bang. Their fun and chic “love parade” trended online as they sent Ryan high up in the air in a bunch of balloons. Their performance was called “very millennial” and trend and earned them a score of 9.0 for a consolation prize.
Tomorrow, it will be Team Vhong and Ryan’s chance to shine and present another impressive performance for the madlang people.
