When it comes to asking a girl’s hand in marriage, guys often think that the grander the proposal, the better. But though is surely a lovely thing to do, there are also many girls who would prefer a more personalized approach and for their guy to do something unique that would make them feel extra special.
Recently, one guy went viral for his rather unique proposal to his long-time girlfriend.
When YAel Makkar Mendoza knew that Joni Ellazar was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, he enlisted the help of their friends to make the moment happen without her suspecting a thing.
During a party, their friends had what appeared to Joni as a spur-of-the-moment decision to have a game of ‘Pinoy Henyo’. What she did not know is that Yael and their friends had planned the whole thing.
To make the game more interesting, the friends ‘picked’ the lovers to play the game – and they gamely agreed.
Of course, it was Joni who was picked to guess the Pinoy Henyo word. A friend wrote the puzzle and gave the board to her. But Joni just could not guess what the puzzle is, no matter how hard she tried. It was obvious, of course, that it would take a special kind of genius (well, psychic!) to really guess what was going on and to decipher the puzzle.
As the time ran out, Joni looked at the board and was certainly surprised at the words written there! When she looked back at Yael, he was already on his knees and holding out a ring, asking for her hand in marriage. It was the sweetest thing.
An ecstatic Joni said, “Yes!” and the two kissed as their friends cheered.
Joni later wrote on her Facebook page as she announced their engagement:
And yes it's official. We're engaged.
YAel after all the fights, misunderstanding, topaks and hardships we had in this relationship, you still choose to stay.
Yes, i love to have more fights and resolve it with you.
Yes, i want to be the person you always wake up with in every morning of our lives.
Yes, i want to be the woman to serve you and support you all through out.
Yes, i want to spend my lifetime with you.
And Yes! I will marry you! ❤❤❤
