MANILA, Philippines – The typhoon with international name "Yutu" entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and was called "Rosita", state weather bureau PAGASA announced on Saturday morning, October 27, 2018.
The weather central added that the first bulletin for 'Bagyong Rosita' will be released at 11:00 am today (UPDATE: Typhoon Rosita PAGASA weather forecast October 27, 2018).
"Rough to very rough sea conditions will prevail over the northern and eastern seabords of Luzon and over the eastern seabord of Visayas as it moves closer to the country," DOST-PAGASA Senior Weather Specialist Chris Perez said.
PAGASA said tropical cyclone warning signals may be raised in parts of Northern Luzon and Central Luzon as early as Sunday evening, October 28, or Monday morning, October 29.
Rosita might make landfall over the Northern Luzon area by Tuesday, October 30.
With the cone of uncertainty, the typhoon may also affect Southern Luzon and Metro Manila areas.
At 3:00 a.m. today, the weather system was located at 1,495 km east of Northern Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 185 kph, gustiness of up to 225 kph and moving at 20 kph.
Rosita is the country's 18th tropical cyclone for 2018. In average, 20 cyclones enters PAR per year.
