MANILA, Philippines – The country's national team Gilas Pilipinas resumes its bid for the FIBA World Cup 2019 as they face familiar Asian powerhouse Team Iran in the fourth window of the Qualifiers round on Thursday night, September 13, 2018 at the Azady Gym in Tehran. Filipino-German Christian Standhardinger will lead Gilas Pilipinas with other big men first-timer Ian Sangalang, JP Erram, Raymond Almazan, Beau Belga and Asi Taulava.
UPDATE: Philippines falls to mighty Iran
The challenge for the Nationals would be the 33-year old NBA veteran Hamed Haddadi, who led his team in earning podium finish in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.
"It's going to be a very tough team," Gilas Pilipinas Head Coach Yeng Guiao said.
Tip-off time is at 8:00 pm (Philippine time).
