There are times when people are so distracted that they do funny things without even knowing. Just like this woman who recently went viral after spending a few minutes walking up an escalator heading the opposite direction.
The video was shared on Facebook by user @WitchKim and has since received over 6 million views since it was posted.
While the woman was not identified, a lot of netizens had a good laugh over the video.
In the clip, the woman who was wearing a green shirt and white pants could be seen walking up the escalator. This would have taken her faster up the stairs – if the escalator was going up, that is! But because the escalator was going down, the distracted woman had no idea that she was actually going against the flow and could spend forever trying to go up without making any progress at all.
She was going at it for a couple of minutes that people had begun taking videos just for laughs. Yet the woman had no idea that people were already laughing at her as she was busy doing something on her phone.
People speculated what it was that made this woman so distracted. Many believe she was texting her boyfriend but others said she could be playing a game on her phone.
Whatever the reason for the distraction, it kept her busy for a few minutes before she finally realized that she had been on the escalator for a long time yet she had not reached the top! Oooops.
As the woman finally looked up from her phone and realized her mistake, she stopped walking and was obviously embarrassed by her silly actions.
She could try going up the stairs as fast as she could since she was nearly at the top but she realized the right thing to do was finally go with the correct flow and get downstairs so she could take the correct escalator going up.
