MANILA, Philippines – Tropical Depression 'Neneng' has slightly intensified while moving west northwestward, state weather bureau PAGASA announced in a weather bulletin on Monday afternoon, September 10, 2018.
At 4:00 pm today, the center of 'Bagyong Neneng' was estimated based on all available data at 150 km North Northwest of Basco, Batanes (21.7°N, 121.4°E). It has maximum winds of up to 55 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 65 km/h and moving West Northwest at 10 km/h.

Tropical cyclone warning signal no. 1 (30-60 kph expected in 36 hours) was raised over Batanes. 'Neneng' will bring occasional rains with gusty winds.
The trough of the tropical depression will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains over Babuyan Group of Islands and scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms particularly over the Ilocos Provinces and Cordillera Administrative Region.
TD 'Neneng' is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) tomorrow (Tuesday, September 11).
Meanwhile, the the eye of Typhoon “Mangkhut” (international name) was located based on all available data at 2,255 km East of Southern Luzon or outside PAR.
'Mangkhut' has maximum sustained winds of up to 150 km/h and gustiness of up to 185 km/h. It is moving West at 35 km/h. This typhoon which could enter the PAR this Wednesday (September 12) would be given the local name Ompong.
Forecasters advised parts of Luzon to prepare for 'Ompong' as it may develop into a super typhoon while it is still over water.
The typhoon, however, may reach a peak intensity of greater than 205 kph before entering the country.
The typhoon may pass through the Cagayan-Batanes area around Saturday and exit PAR between Saturday and Sunday.
