MANILA, Philippines – The video of an alleged possession is making rounds on social media, with the girl supposedly possessed by the spirit of her older brother who is seeking justice for his murder.
The girl was identified as Abigail Magtalas from Nueva Ecija.
In the clip, Abigail could be seen crying hard but though her voice remained unchanged, her family claims she was talking about things that she couldn’t have possibly known unless it was really her older brother Marvin Magtalas who was doing the talking.
Marvin died in March. According to Talavera police chief Supt. Joe Neil Rojo, the 19-year-old Marvin died following a shootout with police operatives who were conducting a buy-bust operation at Barangay Matias.
But the ‘possession’ video tells a different story. Marvin, through Abigail, cried his heart out and narrated how he was picked up at around noon near the ‘gotohan’. By 3:00 pm, he was supposedly tortured and mocked by his captors at Baypass Talavera.
Despite him begging them to spare his life, even if that meant being in jail for the rest of his life, his captors started shooting at him.
The first shot hit his foot, something that the ‘possessed’ Abigail supposedly felt because she cried hard when someone touched that ‘wounded’ foot.
Despite the teen’s pleas to his captors, however, they never listened. His body was later dumped at Andal Alino, still in Talavera.
His spirit never experienced peace, especially because he begged for his life and didn’t want to die. According to the person who posted the video, Marvin supposedly chose Abigail because the two were very close.
The video has since gone viral but some people were sceptical that this was for real, with many saying that ‘possessions’ often make the possessed person look scary, feel really strong, and have a different voice; however, a lot of netizens also sided with the family, saying it was probably not a ‘bad possession’ because Abigail is close to spirit.
