While kids his age are still learning how to multiply numbers, write in cursive handwriting, and are spending more time with play than in their lessons, an 8-year-old Belgian boy is already off to college – that’s after completing high school in just 18 months! Wow.
Laurent Simons is just 8 years old but because of his IQ of 145, he’s more interested in learning rather than playing. While other kids love to play, Laurent enjoys studying and learning new things.
Instead of just learning how to multiply numbers and still grasping basic Math concepts, Laurent is already doing complicated calculations in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus! At the tender age of 8, he’s excelling in subjects that most adults wouldn’t even want to face in school!
As you might have guessed already, his favorite subject is Mathematics.
Asked why he loves Math, the kid candidly answered, “Because it's so vast, there's statistics, geometry, algebra!”
Back when he was much younger, Laurent wanted to be an astronaut or a surgeon but he changed his mind and now wants to do something related to computers.
His parents are quite supportive of his choices, saying they would be happy with any choice he makes.
“If he decided tomorrow to become a carpenter, that would not be a problem for us, as long as he is happy,” his father said.
He also revealed that even as a younger kid, Laurent struggled when it comes to playing with other kids as he showed no interest in toys.
What amazed netizens though is that while kids his age are still dreaming about what they want to be in the future when they get older, Laurent is already several steps ahead and nearing the completion of his dreams.
The genius boy completed high school in just 18 months, graduating alongside 18-year-old students! After the 2-month summer break, he is ready to enter college.
