LIST OF PASSERS: March 2018 ALS A&E Test Results

MANILA, Philippines – (Updated June 25) The Department of Education (DepEd), through the Bureau of Education Assessment (BEA), is expected to release results of the 2017-2018 Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency (ALS A&E) Test in three (3) months after the exam.

The examination was conducted on March 4, 2018 (Luzon) and March 11, 2018 (Visayas and Mindanao). Accepted applicants were those at least 12 years old for the A&E Test elementary level and at least 16 years old for the A&E Test Junior High School.

"Test results shall be released not more than 3 months after the date of examination. Examinees shall receive their Certificate of Rating (COR) through the SDOs and DOs," DepEd said in Memorandum No. 006, s. 2018 issued in January 2018.

Meanwhile, DepEd announced through Memorandum No. 076 series of 2018 that the 60% passing score for March 2018 ALS A&E test remains in effect.

"A 60% passing score in examinations is generally acceptable," Education Secretary Leonor Briones also said in a statement. The adjustment from 75% was due to low passing rate in the November 2017 exams.

ALS A&E is a paper and pencil test designed to measure the competencies of those who have neither attended nor finished elementary or secondary education in the formal school system.

Passers of the A&E Test are given a certificate/diploma, bearing the DepEd seal and the signature of the Secretary, certifying their competencies as comparable graduates of the formal school system. They are qualified to enroll in secondary and post-secondary schools.

UPDATE: DepEd announced through a memorandum that completers of the ALS, who undertook the old basic education curriculum before the implementation of the K to 12 Basic Education Program and passed the A&E Test-High School Level, are now eligible candidates for higher education beginning school year (SY) 2018-2019.

DepEd said the individual Certificate of Rating (COR) of all test takers will be forwarded to their respective Schools Division Offices (SDOs).
