MANILA, Philippines – Janine Berdin has been named the grand champion of "Tawag ng Tanghalan" (TNT) Season 2 after coming out on top in a much-awaited grand finals dubbed as "Ang Huling Tapatan" held at Aliw Theater, Pasay City on Saturday, June 2.
Berdin, a 16-year-old singer-actress from Lapu-Lapu, Cebu, produced a string of hair-raising performances to triumph against her rivals and amaze the majority of viewers and the judges.
She sang a rendition of classic hit from Sampaguita "Nosi Balasi" to book her place in the top three, before stunning with a medley of Bamboo hits.
She earned the highest number of combined judges' score and text votes (96.11%), defeating Ato Arman (Mindanao) and Steven Paysu (USA), who finished second and third, respectively.
"Amazing! Sobrang organic at nakaka-proud ang performance mo. We believe in you," judge Billy Crawford commented.
"Hindi ka lang masarap pakinggan, tumatagos sa puso. You are the next voice of OPM. Gumawa ka ng trono sa industriyang ito," judge Yeng Constantino said.

Janine Berdin won P2 million in cash prize, a recording contract, a brand-new house and lot from Camella, ultimate vacation package from 2GO, a musical gadgets package from JB Music, a livelihood package from Siomai house, premium television sets from HKTV and a trophy created by renowned Filipino visual artist Toym Imao.
Arman received P 500,000 while Paysu took home P 250,000.
Also in the set of judges in the grand finals were K Brosas, Erik Santos, Rico J Puno, Nyoy Volante, Jed madela, Karylle, Karla Estrada, Kyla, Mitoy Yonting, Jaya, Ogie Alcasid and Rey Valera.
