MANILA, Philippines – The Fil-Belgian contestant with his dance partner bagged the grand prize in Belgium’s Got Talent 2018 as announced on Saturday, May 26.
Ian Lodens and partner Natascha Van Es were this season’s champion in Belgium’s biggest talent search, broadcasted earlier this morning (Manila Time).
Ian and Tasha’s impressive acrobatic dance number on Tom Walker hit song, “Leave a Light on” made everyone swoon.
The talented duo garnered the highest text votes, which is the basis for determining the grand prize winner in the competition.
Ian, whose mother is a Filipina from Quezon City has earlier said that he will use the prize money to visit the Philippines and meet his ‘Lolo and Lola’. The three-time Jujitsu World Champion has yet to visit his mother’s country since he was born. Ian’s mother, Rebecca who earlier asked support from her ‘kababayans,’ thanked everyone on for voting.
The Belgium’s Got Talent started with 12 finalists and 5 were chosen based on viewer’s text votes. Aside from and Ian and Tasha, four more contestants battled it out during the grand finals: The dancing duo - Twice, the singer - Sonita, the dance show stoppers- Leen & Angelo, acrobatic performer - Mathias Goethals and group performer - CompAni-One.
The Belgium’s Got Talent 2017 winner was from a unique masked dance troupe Baba Yega. After winning BGT 2017, they later joined Britain’s Got Talent.
